The richness of the world in which we exist is obscured by dualistic views of good, bad, right, and wrong. It’s all about point of view when it comes to values and perspective, these factors contribute to the context in which we utilize, comprehend, and evaluate information.

Values are important ethical or moral ideas that we believe in. What we believe is right or wrong is the easiest way to establish our values. We give definitions to terms like integrity, honesty, goodness, and evil, among others.

The way we apply our values to the world around us is called perspective. It provides the context in which we can comprehend. When we make a judgment about whether something is good or bad, the way we arrived at that conclusion is called perspective.

Values and perspective have an impact on information. To be information literate is to be able to identify what values and perspective you are using when finding and using information.
