I want to share this because some of you might be going through the same type of spiritual transition.
Last night, I had a strange dream.
I dreamt I had a body to bury.
I didn’t know who it was.
I had a coffin, drove to a cemetery, found an open grave, and dropped it in.
When I got home, someone told me that grave already belonged to someone else and their funeral was coming up.
I panicked, wondering, “Are they going to throw the body out? Should I go back and get it?” That’s when my son woke me up because I was snoring loud.
When I woke up, the meaning hit me. This dream wasn’t about death. It was about an old version of me being laid to rest for good.
How This Dream Connected to My Real Life.
Three years ago, I sold my home, relocated to a different state, and thought I was stepping into a new chapter.. The transition was hard.
When I woke up, the meaning hit me. This dream wasn’t about death. It was about an old version of me being laid to rest for good. That “body” in the dream was the old me:
The me who carried fear, emotional exhaustion, instability, and pressure from being around people that didn’t support my growth.
Why I Buried It in Someone Else’s Grave This symbolized something deep:
When life is unstable, you heal wherever you can.
You don’t always have a “place of your own” to release things. You just find a moment, a crack, a space, and you let something go.
That’s exactly what my journey has felt like these last years. Healing in places that weren’t mine. Growing in environments that didn’t match my energy. Letting go without feeling grounded.
The Panic in the Dream Meant Something Too.
The fear that the body might be thrown out?
That’s the fear many of us have when we try to move on:
• “What if the past comes back?”
• “What if life doesn’t let me move forward?”
• “What if what I buried isn’t really gone?”
But the dream ended with me waking up.
Because the message was simple:
The burial is done. You don’t need to go back and retrieve what you let go. Your new chapter has already started.
If you’ve been through a long season of struggle, instability, or emotional heaviness…
Your dreams may start showing funerals, endings, burials, or closed doors.
It’s not death.
It’s rebirth.
It’s your spirit saying the old chapter is over.
And for me, this dream arrived a day after my birthday my personal new year, confirming that I’ve stepped out of survival mode and into a new cycle.
One response to “MY DREAM LAST NIGHT GAVE ME A MESSAGE I DIDN’T KNOW I NEEDED.”
Our spirit always signals when it’s time to let go, and dreams are one of the clearest ways it communicates that.
